INSURANCE

As of January 1, 2026, acupuncture is no longer offered as a standalone service.

Every treatment combines acupuncture with cutting edge electric medicine techniques.

The best way to determine if you have acupuncture coverage is to call your insurance company directly and ask if you have acupuncture benefits. It the answer is yes, inquire further:

Find out if you have both in and out-of-network benefits.
Ask if you have a deductible that must be met.
Ask if you have a co-insurance or co-pay.
Ask if there are other limitations.

We are currently only in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (not Empire NYSHIP). For those that do have insurance coverage for acupuncture, we can bill your insurance for the acupuncture portion of your treatment. However, there is an additional $30 electric medicine surcharge for each visit.

All patients who believe they have acupuncture benefits with their health insurance must first get their coverage verified by Bridge to Health staff. In order to do a verification, we will need:

A photo of the front AND back of your insurance card.
The correct, full spelling of your name.
Your date of birth.

Until better legislation is passed to include licensed acupuncturists as Medicare providers, we are unable to bill Medicare.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES FOR PATIENTS WITH INSURANCE COVERAGE

Insurance companies that cover acupuncture treatment only provide benefits for acupuncture. In addition to the electric medicine surcharge, there may be additional services the practitioner suggests.

Some patients will be candidates for the additional services of cupping and/or bloodletting. Insurance patients are responsible for these services. Cupping and/or bloodletting is an additional $20/session.

You may purchase a package of 5 cupping/bloodletting sessions ($100) and the 6th cupping/bloodletting session will be free. As a reminder, this only applies to patients with insurance coverage.

Patients may add a BEMER session on to their treatment. BEMER is a PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) device that is an FDA cleared class 2 medical device, designed to improve microcirculation in the body. BEMER sessions are an additional charge of $25 per session.

BEMER packages are available. You may purchase a package of 4 BEMER sessions ($100), and the 5th will be free.

SELF-PAY

For those paying out-of-pocket (self-pay), our rates are due at the time of service. Our time of service fees are:

$175 - Initial session

$125 - Follow up sessions

Electric medicine techniques are included in this price. Cupping and/or bloodletting are also included in the time of service fees for patients who are self-pay. Not all conditions/visits necessitate cupping and/or bloodletting.

BEMER sessions are an additional charge of $25 per session.
